A native of Miami, FL, David Ramos is a conductor, educator, and digital designer driven by the advancement of culture, collaboration, and creativity. David has taken part in esteemed conducting competitions and programs, including the Midwest Reynolds Conducting Institute, the United States Army Band Conductors Workshop, the Frederick Fennell International Conducting Competition, and the NBA Young Composer / Conductor Mentor Project. His research on the wind music of Cuban composers and diverse programming for high school instrumental ensembles has been presented at national and international research conferences. In addition to his role with the American Composers Orchestra, David is a freelance web and digital designer and manages the social media accounts for the University of Miami Frost School of Music Band Department and Miami’s Caribbean street festival “Taste of Karnival.” David is a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Miami pursuing a DMA in wind conducting.
