The Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation Orchestral Commissions Program (formerly the Women Composers Readings and Commissions program) is an initiative of the League of American Orchestras, in partnership with the American Composers Orchestra (ACO), and is supported by the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation. The program is designed to positively impact the gender diversity of the repertoire performed by American orchestras, supporting artistic vibrancy and ensuring that creative opportunities are available to all.

The program is embedded in EarShot; recipients are selected from women and non-binary composers who have participated in EarShot Readings.

Through this repeat-performances initiative, we are providing $1,500 in support to up to 24 orchestras to perform one of the works by the composers below no later than the 2028-29 season. Please use this form to indicate your interest by Thursday, August 13, 2026.
