Justin Tokke

Music engraver, software designer, composer, and organist Justin Tokke has been fascinated with music and composition since learning piano at an early age. A native of Vancouver, Canada, Justin grew up learning the fundamentals of music in church. He moved with his family to New York at age ten and studied trombone and composition.

​After attending Mannes College, and graduating from Eastern University with a Bachelor’s degree in composition, he put his expert Sibelius skills to use as a freelance engraver. Justin worked for nine years at Carl Fischer Music and Theodore Presser Co., first as an engraver and editor, and then as Technical Lead. In 2021 he joined Avid Technology as Senior Product Designer for Sibelius, designing new features and improvements for the world's leading music notation software. He was also the “voice of the customer” and marketing content creator for Sibelius.

In 2015, Justin founded Music Engraving Tips, the largest dedicated Facebook group for music engravers worldwide with more than 50,000 members and counting. He also serves as organist and choirmaster at All Saints’ Church in Briarcliff Manor, NY.
