Following a two-year battle with cancer, Fred Ho talks about making his upcoming orchestral debut on November 14, 2008. During his recovery, Ho developed new breathing techniques and returns to the stage with a new approach to playing the saxophone.

Launched April 23 - 27, 2008, Playing it UNsafe is an opportunity for composers to try out new ideas, extend working methods conceived in other musical settings, establish new collaborations, or showcase a new piece in development. Activities include open rehearsals, public readings, panel discussions and two laboratory performances. The four videos below highlight the concepts behind this "Research and Development Laboratory" for new orchestra music, and served as previews of the works of two of the composers, Jonathan Dawe and Dan Trueman, whose works were performed as part of Playing it UNsafe.
