Orchestra Tech is the American Composers Orchestra's multi-year initiative to explore and encourage the integration of technology into the modern orchestra and to stimulate the development of new symphonic music using new media and digital technology. Orchestra Tech launched in 2001 with a National Conference on Technology and the Orchestra, Oct. 10 - 14 in New York City, that brought together composers, performers, conductors, music professionals, technologists, and educators, for a series of performances, presentations, lectures and symposia. Renowned composer and music-technology innovator Tod Machover of the MIT Media Lab, is Music Alive Composer-in-Residence, and serves as Artistic Advisor of Orchestra Tech.
