Internships
The following
internship positions are currently available:

Development
Intern
American
Composers Orchestra (ACO) is accepting applications for a Development
Intern. The intern will work closely with the Director of Development
and will
-
research new
funding prospects
- assist
with stewardship of ACO's current funders
- coordinate
site visits to ACO's Music Factory school partners
- assist
with logistics for special events
Ideal
candidates will have a desire to learn about fundraising and an
interest in the performing arts. Interest in contemporary classical
music is a plus.
ACO is the
only orchestra in the world dedicated to the creation, performance,
preservation and promulgation of music by American composers. ACO
identifies todays brightest emerging composers, champions prominent
established composers as well as those lesser-known, and increases
regional, national and international awareness of the infinite
variety of American orchestral music, reflecting geographic,
stylistic and temporal diversity.
Days/Hours:
Applicants must be available to work a minimum of 5 hours per week
for a peroid of three months or more.
Salary: This
is an unpaid position, however a stipend and/or college credit may
be available.

Production
Intern
ACO is currently
accepting applications for a Production Intern. The intern will work
closely with ACO's operations and production staff to produce
concerts and related musical and educational programs at Carnegie
Hall and other venues. Sample duties include:
-
Organizing,
cataloging and maintaining ACO's archives of recordings and program notes.
- Assisting in
preparations for concert productions, including organizing equipment
for rehearsals and performances, communicating with composers and
guest artists.
- Assisting in
communications and public relations efforts such as press releases
and mailings.
- General office duties
Ideal candidates
will have a desire to learn about new orchestra music and an interest
in the performing arts.
Days/Hours:
Applicants must be available to work a minimum of 5 hours per week,
for a minimum of three months.
Salary: This is an
unpaid position, however a stipend and/or college credit may be available.
