CoLABoratory: Playing it UNsafe 2012-13 Submission deadline: April 16, 2012 ACO announces CoLABoratory: Playing it UNsafe, a research and development laboratory for the creation, development, work-shopping, and performance of experimental new music by American composers. The program includes an extended series of public workshop/readings during the 2012-13 season, culminating in performance in Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall on Friday, April 5, 2013, conducted by ACO music director George Manahan. Prangcharoen Wins Underwood Commission Narong Prangcharoen has been awarded the 2011 Underwood Emerging Composers Commission. Narong wowed both the audience and the mentor composers with his winning work Pubbanimitta ("Foreboding"). Narong receives a $15,000 prize to compose a new work to be premiered by ACO next season.
